Methadone kiosks add Verifi fingerprint readers from Zvetco Biometrics

July 14, 2010

Zvetco Biometrics, a provider of fingerprint identity and authentication solutions, and eAnytime Corp., a provider of made-to-order computerized kiosks for healthcare, have announced the integration of Verifi fingerprint readers from Zvetco into eAnytime's computerized kiosks for dispensing methadone.

Designed for busy drug rehabilitation outpatient and resident facility clinics, the biometric kiosk solutions provide clinicians and patients with an easy-to-use methodology for dispensing.

The eAnytime kiosks powered by Verifi provide clinics worldwide the flexibility to deliver measured doses of methadone to their patients via patent pending technology. When combined with the secure and accurate biometric readers from Zvetco Biometrics, the kiosks deliver safety and protection from frivolous lawsuits. Applauded by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the federal Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), according to a company releasem, these kiosks are now in use by thousands of patients at dozens of health centers across the United States.

Zvetco Biometrics' fingerprint authentication solutions offer a combination of security, convenience and ease-of-use. By integrating Verifi fingerprint readers from Zvetco Biometrics into the eAnytime kiosk, doctors no longer need to personally supervise the medicating of their patients. This allows for faster, more efficient patient care. The combined solution also provides a greater level of control in implementing policies that allow only authorized personnel access to patient and medication information in compliance with the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
