WILLITS, Calif. -- METALfx and WebRaiser Technologies, Inc. will introduce a jointly developed interactive retail display rack at the KioskCom 2003 Conference in Las Vegas, April 7-10.
According to a news release, the pair will develop the next generation of retail/point-of-purchase (POP) display racks. The new interactive POP display racks (I-POPs) are powered by WebRaiser's Total Self-Service Enterprise software, which enables retailers to "enhance the customer shopping experience."
The I-POPs will serve as knowledgeable sales tools that educate customers and assist with product selection and sales. Where products are not in stock, the I-POPs will offer the ability to integrate with retail inventory systems and allow customers to locate, select and purchase products for themselves, which enables retailers to offer more product in less space.
"Collaborating with WebRaiser Technologies was a natural choice for METALfx," said Clint Byrnes, METALfx general manager, Wood Products Division. "WebRaiser's experience and software provides rapid development and solves challenges with user acceptance and back office integration."
"The new I-POP's are like a blend of our classic retail display systems enhanced with our understanding of video arcade integration," said METALfx sales manager Ben Wheeler states. "These systems offer the elegance of retail with the excitement of video arcade. It's a cant miss formula that has expressed tremendous interest from new and existing retail customers."
To produce the rack, METALfx will provide enclosure design, manufacturing and integration services, and WebRaiser will provide the component integration and software development services. METALfx and WebRaiser have planned a series of I-POPs to roll out in 2003.
