Automobile dealerships can now deploy a new kiosk designed by Meridian and Adam Technology that allows customers to view services by their vehicle year, make, model and odometer reading. They can also select services, schedule appointments, pay for services, drop off and pick up their keys, and schedule their next appointment completely outside the dealership, according to a company press release.
Meridian developed the custom kiosk to help dealerships transition from their convenient "Night Drop-Off Box" to a more full-service solution. The Automated Drop-Off Assistance Mechanism or "ADAM" system provides a lifestyle change for customers; providing the freedom and knowledge to make purchasing decisions for their vehicle without the pressure and time constraints of dealership service departments, said Chris Gilder, founder and CEO of Meridian.
"We listened to Adam Technology Partner's vision and wanted to create a kiosk solution which matched in style and efficiency and could be easily implemented by dealerships nationwide," he said. "The ADAM system provides just that."
Vehicle maintenance currently represents 55 percent of revenue generation for dealerships monthly. With the current economic condition having a negative impact on vehicle sales, dealerships are looking for new ways to attract and engage customers. The ADAM system allows dealers to create a self-service solution for time constrained customers who need to have their vehicles maintained but don't have the time to wait in a lobby, Gilder said. The ADAM system extends the hours of the dealership for expanded maintenance opportunities while providing greater service solutions for busy customers.
