MEI launches AE2800 cash acceptor for retail kiosks

October 22, 2002

WEST CHESTER, Pa. -- Electronic cash payment system developer MEI has launched its latest cash acceptor for retail kiosks. The MEI AE2800 accepts bill denominations from $1 to $100, according to a company news release.

Software to recognize new currency designs can be downloaded for the AE2800 for easy updating in the field, according to the release. Operators also can query the cash acceptor cassette to find out how much money has been collected on a given day.

The AE2800 accepts bills positioned face up or down, right or left. It validates bills without touching them, reducing jams.

MEI offers a bill acceptor application program interface on CD-ROM to facilitate cash integration of the AE2800 into kiosks.
