Shoppers can scan and pay cash for purchases without cashier assistance

MEI, the world's leading supplier of high-performance electronic payment systems, announces that its LE3900 bill acceptor has been specified into the ACM - Automated Checkout Machine - from Productivity Solutions, Inc. (PSI). An ACM equipped with a LE3900 bill acceptor enables shoppers at supermarkets, convenience stores, and other high-transaction retail outlets to scan and pay cash for purchases without cashier assistance.

ACM is a self checkout system for any size order for any shopper. Comprised of user-friendly, shopper-operated checkout lanes, the ACM system closely resembles conventional checkout lanes. Shoppers scan their items at an ACM lane, then use cash, credit or debit cards at the lane or any form of payment at a centrally located pay station. Easy to use, the system is equipped with both touch screen and voice synthesized assistance. Patented ACM security features check each item's characteristics against the system's security database to provide the highest level of security. Because the ACM is fully integrated with the store's point-of-sale (POS) system, it allows real-time price and description verification as the shopper scans.
