Shoppers can scan, bag and pay cash for purchases without cashier assistance

MEI, the world's leading supplier of high-performance electronic payment systems, announces that it is providing the MEI ZT1200 bill acceptor for use in NCR Corporation's Self-Checkout system. An NCR Self-Checkout equipped with a ZT1200 bill acceptor enables shoppers at supermarkets, mass merchandise stores and other retail outlets to scan, bag, and pay cash for purchases without cashier assistance.
"We specified the MEI ZT1200 bill acceptor because it contains the technology features to help assure ultra-reliable performance in the field, accommodates Canadian currency, and has a removable cassette," said John Addy, NCR's Director of Self-Checkout Product Management. "It is critical that shoppers using the system have a positive experience paying for their purchases. The ZT1200 bill acceptor is "smart" enough to accept all denominations of valid currency, no matter what its physical condition or how it is inserted."
