McDonald's Hong Kong saw major outages with its self-ordering kiosks and mobile app on March 15. Customers had to pay at the counter instead due to the outage, according to a report by South China Morning Post.

"Due to a computer system failure, the mobile ordering and self-ordering kiosks are not functioning, the company said on its website and Facebook page. "Please order directly at the restaurant counter. Sorry for any inconvenience caused."

McDonald's Hong Kong was able to gradually restore the computer system during the day. McDonald's in other countries saw outages as well including Jordan, Taiwan and Japan.
