Maxspeed introduces thin client upgrade

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Thin client developer Maxspeed Corp. has upgraded its 8300 XP Embedded thin client server to provide additional security support and introduce kiosk support.

Kiosk mode support for the server is provided by Maxspeed Management Software, which is available free of charge through Dec. 31 for clients that are upgrading their 8300 XP servers. In addition, the upgrade includes touchscreen monitor support for Elo TouchSystems and 3M Touch Systems units.

The upgrade also includes smart-card and fingerprint security support, USB floppy drive and CD-ROM support, and tools to remove components to free up space for other applications.
