Reading, Massachusetts officials have not yet decided on a company to provide parking kiosks, according to a Daily Times Chronicle report. The vetting group has so far interviewed Parkeon/Flowbird, IPS Group, VenTek, PayByPhone and Gtechna.
In April, the town appropriated $110,000 for four solar-powered parking meters to be installed in the Upper Haven Street parking lot and the municipal lot off Brande Court.
One goal is to determine which vendor can provide kiosks and software components to launch the city's new downtown metered parking plan.
The kiosks collect between $1 to $5 an hour for parking.
