Beverly, Massachusetts, will replace parking meters with kiosks that will provide the first 20 minutes free, according to the Beverly Patch.
Payment options will include coins, a smartphone app, a debit card or credit card. After the first 20 minutes, users pay 25 cents per hour in municipal parking lots and 75 cents per hour for on-street parking on Cabot and Rantoul Streets.
Drivers will enter their license plate number into the kiosk or the app. Permits will be available for downtown residents and businesses, the article said.
