Residents of Plymouth, Massachusetts can now pay taxes — real estate, personal property and motor vehicle and boat excise taxes — 24/7 at an electronic kiosk outside the town hall, according to a wickedlocal.com report.

Residents can pay using a credit or debit card that has a 2.75% charge, or with cash or check, the latter of which incurs a 50-cent charge. The kiosk provides a paper receipt and offers the option of having the receipt sent by text or email.

The $70,000 for the hardware and software has been covered by the federal CARES Act. The purchase was covered because the kiosk, being contactless, protects people from COVID-19.
