Massachusetts college introduces mental health screening kiosk for students

April 18, 2018

Framingham State University has introduced a kiosk to allow students to take screening tests and help them access mental health services, according to the MetroWest Daily News. The kiosk is located in the school's Center for Academic Success and Achievement.

The kiosk has an electronic touchscreen that guides students through questions. Students can use the results to better understand their symptoms and find resources for treatment.

The Wellesley nonprofit organization Screening for Mental Health Inc., which has offered similar online tools, designed the new kiosk. It is believed to be the first screening tool of its kind on any college campus in Massachusetts. It was purchased with grant money from the MetroWest Health Foundation.
