Seniors residing in Arizona independent living communities may soon have access to kiosks that allow them to learn about and purchase marijuana products from licensed dispensaries, according to a Marijuana Moment report. The initiative is a partnership between retailer Life Is Chill and cannabis technology company LoveBud, which plans to install kiosks in participating senior living communities. The kiosks will enable residents to browse product information and place orders for delivery.
The kiosks are designed to emphasize education and accessibility while removing common barriers such as transportation to dispensaries. LoveBud CEO James Watkins said the technology simplifies ordering and creates new revenue opportunities for smaller dispensaries, while Life Is Chill's senior education advocate Dana Lillestol noted that the model provides older adults with clear product information and a straightforward way to place orders.
Participation in the program will depend on whether individual senior living communities permit marijuana use and choose to implement the kiosks. The rollout comes amid ongoing cannabis policy debates in Arizona, including proposed legislation addressing marijuana-related nuisances and efforts by some activists to roll back the state's recreational cannabis market.
