Man behind MaxBox buys back former company

January 20, 2008

CHESHIRE, England — Andy Egan, creator of the MaxBox digital retail kiosk, has announced the launch of MaxBox Digital Retail Ltd., a rebranding of MaxBox's original home, Felix Corp.

The announcement comes just a month after Egan's resignation from Felix Corp. over business differences with the company's board chairman.

Egan, founder of Felix Corp., bought back the company from its administrators on Jan. 11. The company will be exhibiting its latest MaxBox kiosk, the U.S.-built MaxBox Americano, Jan. 22-24 during the ATEi/ICE amusement industry trade show.

"I was very frustrated and disappointed about what happened at Felix Group, but I firmly believe in the MaxBox business models that my colleagues and I were rolling out," Egan said. "I am back with MaxBox Digital Retail Ltd. to finish what I started, to make MaxBox the preeminent supplier of kiosk solutions and leader in the digital retail market."
