KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia -- Subscribers of Maxis mobile phone services will soon be able to pay their bills at any time of day via payment kiosks the service provider is installing.
According to an article in The Star Online, Maxis Communications Bhd unveiled the Maxis Express Payment Kiosk at the Nikko Hotel, and said it would install 60 to 70 such kiosks throughout the nation within the next five years.
Customers can use the kiosks to pay the bills of any Maxis service they use. Payments can take the form of cash, check or credit card, said Maxis chief operating officer Edward Ying in the article.
In addition, the kiosks are equipped with a unique feature that allows customers to unbar their mobile phone service upon full payment of their bills, he said. Customers will be charged an undisclosed fee for each successful transaction conducted through the kiosks.
The kiosk system is fully managed, maintained and monitored by OpenSys Bhd. To date, 11 kiosks are already in operation nationwide in Kuala Lumpur and surrounding cities.
