Majorshelf 62 introducing pay-per-use kiosks to South Africa

November 14, 2004

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa -- Kiosk manufacturer Majorshelf 62 is installing pay-per-use kiosks at Engen 1-Stop petrol stations and various tourist destinations across South Africa.

Majorshelf signed an exclusive license for Atlas Micronet's SurfTime software that includes hardware, joint marketing, training and support, according to a company news release.

The SurfTime software enables the kiosk users to surf the Internet or use standard word processing or spreadsheet programs in addition to browsing maps and accessing tourism information. Customers can use credit cards, prepaid cards or coins to pay for the access.

Majorshelf, based in Durban, South Africa, has developed customized kiosks for the KZN Department of Health, the Municipality of George and University of Port Elizabeth among others.
