Madhya Pradeshís, a large state in central India, will be installing a self service postal kiosk at the Central TT Nagar Post Office, according to a report by The Free Press Journal.
The self service kiosk will allow customers to avoid long wait times to send speed-post articles, parcels and registered posts. The kiosk features a touch screen that allows users to choose a destination and method of sending. The kiosk will weigh the item and assign postal charges. After the user pays the postal charges, the machine generates a bar-coded receipt to be affixed to the parcel.
"It will help get rid of the long queue. It will also save time as well as energy," Postmaster, Central TT Nagar, Bhopal S K Shrivastava told the news outlet. "It is like an ATM machine to book their items without any human intervention. The kiosk will b functional 24/7 in [the] future."
