Macau casinos introduce 'responsible gaming' kiosks to help problem gamblers

January 26, 2017

The Galaxy Macau and Wynn Palace have introduced a pair of responsible gaming kiosks, version 3.0, which are designed to allow problem gamblers to seek help and register for self exclusion, according to the Macau Daily Times.

The kiosks have a gaming help response mechanism that was launched by the government in 2012 – a program conceived and developed by the Social Welfare Bureau, Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau and the University of Macau’s Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming.

The kiosks, which were first launched by the government in 2012, are designed to tackle problem gambling, providing a means for users to seek help, register for self exclusion, and provide information related to problem gambling, according to Asia Gaming Brief.

Currently there are a total of 27 responsible gaming kiosks in the territory, three of which are located on three casino floors.

According to organizers, the kiosks have served some 9,000 residents and tourists, while around 81 of them used telephones to seek help.

Last year, 42 people registered for self-exclusion from the casinos.
