Times of India: Malappuram, India - Malappuram, formerly India's most backward district, is now the country's first e-literate district. The state of Kerala has deployed the world's largest rural wireless broadband network, accessed via information kiosks that provide bill pay, e-mail, and Internet capability to residents.
