A "literary kiosk" touring the Iowa City area has printed more than 3,228 stories for passers-by since it debuted in October at the Iowa City Book Festival, according to The Gazette. The kiosk provides free literary works that require one, three or five minutes reading time.
Currently visiting the Iowa City Public Library, the kiosk will soon move to the Coralville library, followed by North Liberty in February and Cedar Rapids in March.
The Iowa City UNESCO City of Literature teamed with UI Libraries to bring the kiosk to Iowa City, with Friends of the UI Libraries covering the costs.
About half of the stories printed so far have been 1-minute reads, while the rest have been almost evenly split between 3- and 5-minute reads.
