Two libraries in Richmond County, North Carolina have deployed new kiosks in their children areas. The kiosks are giant crayons, which have iPads attached to them to allow children to play games, according to areport by Daily Journal.

The Hamlet Public Library purchased a yellow crayon with two iPads and Leath Memorial Library purchased a blue one with four iPads. The games on the kiosks are educational, such as "Search and Find."

Carmella Johnson, supervisor of the Hamlet Library, said she was able to purchase the kiosks using a grant. "You write a grant and ask what you can spend the money on. I used that money 'cause the grant is to purchase children’s computers. The kids love it, which I’m excited about," Johnson said.

The Leath Memorial Library kiosk was paid for with a grant from Pee Dee Care to Share, according to the library's events coordinator, Debbie Knight.
