Legal sports betting kiosks went live in Ohio Sunday, the first state to offer over 1,000 self-service kiosks in convenience stores, grocery stores, bars and restaurants, according to a report in thecentersquare.com
Many of the kiosks the state approved have not yet gone live, according to a businessjournaldaily.com report.
Sports betting kiosk operators are required to select one of seven kiosk proprietors approved by the state's casino control commission to manage the kiosks.
Kiosks operated by BetIGG and UBet Ohio were ready at its 50-plus locations.
Sportsbet Ohio, Intralot's sportsbook, was expected to be available at 700 locations. Players download the Sportsbet Ohio companion app to receive a code to scan at the terminal to place a bet.
Other proprietors scheduled to launch include BetSkybox in mid-January, followed by Gold Rush Sports Betting in February and Wright Bet Venture and Elys Game Technology later in the year.
In addition to kiosks, the state has legalized sports betting apps and sports gaming parlors.
