Leanpath launches touchless AI floor scale for automated food waste tracking

Leanpath has introduced a next-generation AI-powered floor scale that enables fully touchless food waste tracking for high-volume kitchens, expanding the company's enterprise food waste management platform, according to a press release.
The Floor Scale AI uses embedded machine vision to instantly recognize discarded food items, automatically capturing images and operational data without user input. The information integrates into Leanpath's analytics dashboard, where it is analyzed to help chefs and managers identify inefficiencies and reduce waste.
"This floor scale was engineered for the realities of high-volume kitchens," Brennan Hogan, vice president of product at Leanpath, said in the release. "It introduces vision-based automation in a way that simplifies workflows, improves data consistency, and reduces the need for training."
Developed in collaboration with culinary teams, the system supports hands-free data collection, automated classification and real-time reporting. It is designed for large-scale operations and integrates with Leanpath's suite of digital tools, including Leanpath Online, Daily Briefings and its mobile app.
Leanpath said the new system strengthens its goal of connecting food waste measurement with daily improvement and accountability across enterprise kitchens.
