Lead-prevention kiosk educating Iowa community
August 12, 2008
(Mason City, Iowa) KIMT-TV, Channel 3: The Cerro Gordo Department of Public Health in Mason City, Iowa, has added a lead-prevention kiosk to its public library. The kiosk educates parents and children about lead effects and prints information about lead paint concerns within the home. One out of seven kids are at risk for lead poisioning, the department says, because of the amount of homes built before 1978 that may contain lead paint.
