Latest thermal portable printer offers many options

March 28, 2004

NORWICH, England--Able Systems has unveiled a new thermal portable printer that offers options of RS 232, full implementation IrDA and Bluetooth communication interfaces. The Ap1300 also has a one-handed paper loading system.

According to a press release, Ap1300 features high speed, a fixed head-thermal mechanism, text and graphics. The new printer is small enough to be held in the hand and has a strong case design that eliminates hinge stress while still allowing for the drop-in insertion of up to a 50-foot (16m) paper roll.

With a choice of battery management options, the unit can be fitted with re-chargeable cells, or primary cells can be used. In-vehicle solutions and main versions are also available.

Ap1300 applications include mobile ticketing and recording, PDA printing, utility billing, in-vehicle receipting, test and measurement equipment and medical systems.

Mini-printer specialist Able Systems Ltd., established in 1982, is a distributor for major manufacturers including Epson and APS, and a producer of compact panel mounting printers.

The company is based in Norwich, Cheshire, and its site includes offices, test and assembly laboratories, workshops, design and warehouse facilities.
