Las Vegas pubs deploying betting kiosks

At least 37 PT’s Pubs, PT’s Gold, and Sierra Gold taverns throughout the Las Vegas Valley will soon have sports bet kiosks owned by Computerized Bookmaking Systems, Inc. (CBS).

American Wagering Inc. (AWI), the parent company of Leroy’s Sportsbook, the largest independent sportsbook operator in Nevada, will provide the technology for the kiosks, according to Gaming Today.

Leroy’s and CBS entered into an agreement with Golden Gaming, Inc.’s wholly owned subsidiary, Golden Route Operations, LLC (Golden) to provide remote account wagering technology and services to Golden’s slot route customers through Golden’s PT’s Sports Bet Live sports betting kiosks, which incorporates the account wagering software designed by CBS.

The customer signs up for a Leroy’s account by swiping his Golden Rewards players’ club card on the PT’s Sports Bet Live kiosks. The kiosk allows a customer to both deposit money and withdraw funds from his account using a voucher form.

"At PT’s and Sierra Gold Taverns, we are revolutionizing the account wagering experience for Las Vegas locals with Leroy’s. So many of our customers come to our locations for great food and to socialize with their friends and neighbors, while watching a sporting event. Now they can have the added convenience of placing an account wager on that event," Blake L. Sartini, chairman and CEO of Golden Gaming Inc., operator of PT’s, said in the story.

Leroy’s introduced the account wagering kiosks in January, 2008, after receiving Gaming Control Board approval in December, 2007. However, the history of account wagering in Nevada dates back to the late 1960’s.

Leroy’s account wagering kiosks have been in leading local’s establishments such as Inn Zone bars, Buffalo Wild Wings, Murphy’s Law and more. The addition of the cash accepting and voucher withdrawal kiosk and the 37 new locations will make account wagering more suitable to the many patrons in neighborhoods throughout the Las Vegas valley, according to the story.
