The Southern Nevada Health District in Las Vegas has installed a vending machine offering free kits for reducing opioid overdose, hepatitis C and HIV, according to a Las Vegas Review-Journal report.

The machine offers naxolone kits, wound care kits, sterile syringe kits, pregnancy tests, condoms, hormone injection kits and hygiene kits.

Naloxone, known as Narcan, is used for treatment of opioid overdose.

The sterile syringe kits offer cookers used to heat and mix drugs, tourniquets and sterile water.

The hormone injection kits offer supplies transgender people and bodybuilders use to inject hormones.

The kits reduce the practice of reusing needles and other supplies that spread diseases like HIV and hepatitis C.

The Trac-B/Impact Exchange Harm Reduction Program operates the machine.
