DALLAS, Texas - Ticketsoft announced that Landmark Theatres, the nation's largest theatre chain devoted exclusively to art and independent film, has selected Ticketsoft as the technology provider for their theatre management systems. This year Landmark is deploying Ticketsoft's point-of-sale systems at all of their theatres and bars to provide customers and employees with the most current technology available for movie theatre operators. Ticketsoft's unique theatre level systems include on-site and Web ticketing, kiosk sales, concession, inventory, high speed gift and loyalty card and credit card processing, employee scheduling and time and attendance reporting. "This is an exciting time for us," said Philip Wood, CEO of Ticketsoft. "Being selected by a company like Landmark that intends to revolutionize theatre exhibition strengthens our belief that the time is right for our comprehensive solution." Landmark will also be using Ticketsoft's Web-based corporate office system to collect and analyze all theatre level data in a centralized database. Ticketsoft uses Microsoft SQL Server, Reporting Services, Web services and Microsoft.NET development tools. Various corporate departments are able to push booking and trailer information directly to the theatre back office systems for easy scheduling. Using Ticketsoft's open programming interface, third parties like Movietickets.com can securely sell Landmark tickets, and Rentrak and AC Nielsen can collect real-time gross information for reporting to film companies. Theatre managers no longer have to be involved in these processes now that they happen in the background. "We were impressed with what Ticketsoft has developed, as they have taken maximum advantage of recent advances in technology to create an excellent point-of-sale system for the exhibitor industry," says Paul Duchouquette, Vice President of IT for Landmark Theatres.
