Land Brandenburg Lotto GmbH relies on terminal solutions from Wincor Nixdorf

September 2, 2004

PADERBORN/BERLIN - Land Brandenburg Lotto GmbH has decided in favor of lottery terminals from Wincor Nixdorf. The company intends to replace the old terminals at its outlets with Xion/Mtop systems from Wincor Nixdorf by April 2006. The terminals are currently scheduled to be linked with the data center via a virtual private network. The order comprises both delivery of the terminals and the customization of the terminal software.

"Winning this order is yet another chapter in our success story at Germany's toto/lottery companies, and it means that now the vast majority of lottery terminals in Germany will come from Wincor Nixdorf. Our concept of adhering rigorously to open industry standards has impressively proven its worth in the lottery market," said Rainer Schilbach, head of the Lottery Solutions Business Unit at Wincor Nixdorf, in a recent press release.

A factor in this success is the multimedia capabilities of the Wincor Nixdorf terminal. Land Brandenburg Lotto GmbH intends to equip some of the terminals at its outlets with multimedia boards and 20.1" marketing displays. The displays are controlled from a central editing system, which makes it possible to respond in minutes with a multimedia sales promotion for any possible campaign or event.

"The possibilities and opportunities that the new terminal generation from Wincor Nixdorf offer us mean that we can present today's experience-oriented customers with games and betting opportunities in a multimedia form that is very attractive," says Dr. Horst Mentrup, managing director of Land Brandenburg Lotto GmbH.

The rollout, for which Wincor Nixdorf is also responsible, will begin in Dec. 2005. Distribution of the terminal software will be carried out from the Wincor Nixdorf download server. The entire switchover is scheduled for completion in April 2006.
