Shoppers at CU convenience stores in South Korea are able to execute currency exchanges for 15 different currencies by scanning their passports at self-service kiosks, according to a Korea JoonAng Daily report.

The deployments began this month at two locations: The Yongsan IPark Mall and the Myeon-dong main branch, with more to follow.

Customers can conduct exchanges in their preferred language and execute currency exchanges with an individual cap of $2,000.

GS Retail, which operates CU convenience stores, GS25 stores and GS The Fresh stores in Korea, has operated unmanned currency exchange kiosks for foreign currency since January.
