KOA appoints Fryrear executive director

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Kiosks.org Association appointed Alan Fryrear as executive director, effective May 21, 2003.

Fryrear is chairman of NetWorld Alliance, an affiliate of the Kiosks.org Association. He succeeds Craig Keefner, who started the kiosks.org Web site in 1993 and has served as the Association's executive director since its inception in 2001. He will continue to serve as publisher of kiosks.org, a Web site providing information for the Association's more than 160 member companies. Keefner is a senior vice president of NetWorld Alliance.

The current association was formally organized two years ago, and is active in promoting the goals of its members and the kiosk industry. On June 9-12, KOA is partnering with events company Moon Watch in a special Kiosk Self Service pavilion at the national Retail Systems Show in Chicago. "Membership growth is the primary goal I have at this point," Fryrear said. "I want to create more opportunities for our members to get exposure within the business community. In addition, it's our goal to increase consumer awareness of the kiosk industry."

Craig Keefner said, "I am proud of our efforts, such as the Pavilion concept, which helps to communicate and promote self-service and kiosks. At this time I think Alan can help us to become an even better Association than we are."
