KioWare launches new version of Windows kiosk software

KioWare, a kiosk software company, has launched Version 8.7 of KioWare for Windows, which is designed to lock down Windows devices into kiosk mode. The company has added a variety of features to the kiosk software to aid blind and visually impaired users, according to a press release.

KioWare has added a number of features for disabled users including:

  • A new Assistive Technologies tab that features Job Access With Speech screen reader technology for blind users;
  • Support for ZoomTex Magnifier/Reader;
  • Support for the EZ Access Keypad;

Version 8.7 requires Windows 7 or higher to work, and the browser has been updated to Chrome 52. The software is also compatible with the following peripherals;

  • Windows printers including Zebra TTP2030, KR403, KR203 and any printer that has a Windows driver;
  • SNAPI barcode readers;
  • CashCode and MEI Bill Acceptors and MEI bank note recycler;
  • Fujitsu F53 Bill Dispenser; and
  • OTI Trio device support to offer EMV compliance.

Version 8.7 comes in Lite, Basic and Full versions. Users of previous versions need current support in order to upgrade. New users can try out all KioWare products as a free trial with nag screen.
