BRANFORD, Conn. and LOUISVILLE, Ky. - kiosks.org, an online organization of self-service technology companies, awarded its "Best of Show" award for the software category to Netkey Inc. and its Netkey Creator 5.0 software suite.
Craig Keefner, publisher of kiosks.org, said that this is the second year in a row that Netkey has secured a major award at a KioskCom event. The company previously won the "Best of Show" from Kiosks.Org at the 2000 KioskCom Retail show.
Netkey Creator 5.0 software suite is the latest release of the company's application authoring and design software. It's used to create Web-based self-service devices including kiosks, ATMs and managed PCs. The software provides companies with a way of creating multi-channel sales and marketing and inventory extension strategies. The suite includes Netkey Creator, Netkey Creator Plus and Netkey Creator Studio.
"The winning features that made this the choice for Best of Show were the software's enhanced development interface, drag and drop integration with kiosk peripheral devices and robust support for complex multimedia graphics and video," said Keefner. "These innovations provide significant benefits to customers and end-users. Netkey has raised the bar."
Companies using Netkey software for kiosk projects include Borders, Yahoo!, J.C. Penney Co., Fidelity Investments and Microsoft.
The award was presented at the KioskCom 2001 conference and exhibition in Orlando, Fla., held April 22 - 25, 2001. KioskCom is the kiosk industry's largest event.
Netkey has also been awarded Frost & Sullivan's Market Engineering Leadership Award 2001, several New Media Invision Awards and design awards from AV Video and Multimedia Producer Magazine.
Founded in 1995, kiosks.Org is the first kiosk/terminal directory alliance of its kind. More than 130 countries and 300 kiosk and terminal related companies participate in the Web site.
