Kiosks.org association has named seven advisory board members in the group's first-ever election.
Executive director Greg Swistak said the new additions will join existing board members for a meeting on April 20 in Las Vegas to decide who serves on the executive committee.
"We'll also talk about our annual meeting of the membership, our financials and what we need to do to encourage new members to join us," Swistak said. The new board members will take active roles in such committees as Membership, Standards and Best Practices.
The new board members are David Oles, Pixel Magic Imaging; V. Miller Newton,Netkey; Nick Daddabbo, Hand Held Products; Tom Smith, MontegoNet; Peter Kaszycki, Pro-Tech; Ed McGunn, Corporate Safe Specialists; and Craig Keefner, Kiosk Information Systems.
"They give us new blood into the organization," Swistak said. "It's always exciting when you have some vim and vigor."
McGunn said this is an important, exciting turning point for the 5-year-old organization. For his own part, McGunn said he will "try to get the word out" to the membership on the importance of adopting modern cash management methods.
"I have enjoyed being involved with the organization," he said.
Swistak said Paul Wiener has resigned from the board following his departure from Elo TouchSystems. Cort Johnson of IBM is the current board president.
Kiosks.org has 170 members.
