Kiosks, RFID take hold in hotel industry

Hotelmotel.com: Building and strengthening a property's technology backbone will have widespread benefits in 2007 and beyond. Consultants advise hoteliers to shore up their tech infrastructures, such as revenue and property management systems, in order to tackle trends like customer customization and kiosks efficiently.
"Technology in 2007 is all about foundation setting," said Clay Dickinson, vice president and client industry executive for EDS' Global Travel and Hospitality segment. "We're in a bit of a boom cycle right now, so this is the perfect time to build foundations. You can't do [extras] if you don't modernize your applications."
