Kiosks rent bear spray at Yellowstone National Park

Hiking in Yellowstone National Park, you never know when you might run into a bear.

Fortunately, hikers can rent bear spray cannisters, TrailQuipt Bear Spray Rentals, from self-serve kiosks at Montana Grizzly Encounter in Bozeman, Yellowstone Big Rock Inn in Gardiner and Madison Crossing in West Yellowstone, according to a ktvq.com report.

When finished, they can return the cannisters to the locations. The staff checks to make sure the spray has not been used before offering it for rental.

Hikers can also reserve a cannister online.

Cannisters can be rented starting at $16 for two days and $28 for two weeks with a $60 refundable deposit. The deposit is not refunded if the bear spray is used.
