ePaynews: Restaurant technology solutions are evolving to include food-ordering kiosks, many with payment functions, support for RFID-based credit and debit cards, and table-side payment transactions at sit-down establishments. To date, food-ordering kiosks, many with payment functions, have been more successful at sandwich bars and convenience stores than in quick-serve restaurants, but major QSRs are still evaluating the concept. McDonald's has put food-ordering kiosks on hold, but is about to upgrade the counter-top card payment system at its United States outlets to accept RFID-based contactless credit and debit cards.
