Kiosks lauded at German Multimedia Awards

BERLIN, Germany -- The Payback terminal of the Galeria Kaufhof, and the Multi Channel Customer Care solution of Advertools and Advertimes are winners of the German Multimedia Award 2003 in the kiosk system/terminal category.

The Payback terminal for in-store redemptions, submitted by the Kaufhof Warenhaus AG in Cologne, received the prize for best kiosk total solution. The award honored ease of use, as well as design features. See related story, "Kiosk projects nominated for German awards."

The award for kiosk innovation went to XPlace for the software in the Multi Channel Customer Care units submitted by Advertools GmbH and Advertimes GmbH from Goettingen.

The kiosk judges also gave mention to Mediale Information Installation at Max-Planck Gesellschaft Stuttgart Buesnau by the Buero Uebele Visuelle Kommunikation in Stuttgart for its "successful integration" of multimedia applications and architecture.
