Kiosks at Jake’s 58 let bettors donate to Ukraine relief

Bettors at Suffolk County Regional Off-Track Betting Corp. at Jake's 58 Casino Hotel in Islandia, New York can help send medical supplies to Ukraine under a program run by Northwell Health, according to a Newsday report.

The fundraising effort is one of several by Long Islanders who have been moved by stories and images of the devastation in Ukrainian cities.

Tony Pancella, president of Suffolk OTB which operates Jake's 58, altered a cash dispensing system to allow customers to donate to the Northwell Health program.

When bettors collect their winnings, they are given the option to donate to the program.

In addition, OTB has donated $10,000 to the effort.
