KioskCom chooses Las Vegas for 2003 show

April 24, 2002

CHICAGO -- KioskCom 2003 will take place at the Riviera Conference Center in Las Vegas as the organization tries to shift the show around on a geographic basis, according to KioskCom executive director Lawrence Dvorchik.

KioskCom's annual trade show and conference was in Orlando, Fla., for 2001 and `02. Speaking on April 18 during the GlobalShop retail trade show and conference in Chicago, Dvorchik said the general consensus among regular show attendees was to go west.

"We've had it on the east coast for the past two years, but we like to move it around," Dvorchik said. "We've had a lot of requests to take it west and go specifically to Las Vegas."

The show is scheduled to begin April 7 and run through either April 9 or 10. The Riviera hosted KioskCom 2000, but Dvorchik said there would be differences in 2003. He said the conference would include exhibit hall space of about 45,000-to-48,000 square feet, more than doubling the available space in 2000. In addition, hospitality skyboxes will be available overlooking the exhibit hall.

The Riviera is also a logical choice as a Las Vegas venue, Dvorchik noted, because the hotel and casino has introduced a kiosk program for its loyalty card members.

"The Riviera is at the forefront of kiosk technology," he said.
