Kiosk tool predicts problems before they occur

NCR Corp. launched the industry's first predictive managed service for self-service ATM and check-out terminals, according to a company press release. 

It's the first service to predict device failures before they happen and ensure the problem is fixed before the device fails and consumers are affected.

For example, NCR can track activity of a receipt printer on a self-checkout terminal or ATM. When the printer nears the end of its lifecycle or exhibits signs of failure, the printer can be replaced before failure occurs. This capability can significantly increase application availability and up-time.

The service is initially available for NCR SelfServ Automated Teller Machines and NCR SelfServ Checkout self-checkout terminals.
