Kiosk software companyKioWare has launched Version 3.10 of KioWare for Android. It is designed to lock down Android 7.0 into kiosk mode, according to a press release.
The company has also added a number of updates such a tutorial on exiting. This tutorial is designed to make it easier for the user to exit KioWare and will automatically run the first time a user opens KioWare 3.10. Users can also practice exiting KioWare with the tutorial.
The software update also allows users to provision Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, launcher, screen timeout, screen brightness and volume levels. This allows the company to be in control of which users access these settings. In addition, users can postpone this provisioning of settings until they can set up an "active network connection," according to the release.
"We continually strive to make KioWare easy to use for kiosk deployers and yet still challenging for end users to hack," James Kruper, president of KioWare. "This latest release provides an exiting tutorial for those setting up KioWare."
Users need an active KioWare for Android license for each of their kiosks. They can purchase KioWare for Android in the Lite, Basic or Full versions. Users can also try out all KioWare products with a free trial download, according to the release.
