Kiosk Show opening night reception warmly received

October 23, 2004

BOSTON - The third-annual Kiosk Show has begun, and if the opening night reception is any valid hint, the event may prove a success for new show owner, NetWorld Alliance.

About 250 attendees showed up for the opening-night reception, sponsored by Palm Desert National Bank. The location - an 18th century armory known as The Castle - features an open area that last night was filled with a mixture of new-world technology and old-world spirits.

Thirty full-solution providers had set up earlier in the day, and found themselves awash with would-be buyers.

"Turnout has been excellent," said Dick Good, CEO of NetWorld, which recently purchased The Kiosk Show as part of a deal with Voyagi Inc. (NetWorld owns this Web site.) In particular, Good cited the distance many attendees had traveled to participate in such a young show. One company came from Taiwan. Others made it from California, Colorado and Florida.

Attendees previewed products while enjoying the reception. Exhibitors were busy demonstrating products to groups of people.

Sandy Nix,

About 250 attendees showed up for the opening day of The Kiosk Show in Boston Oct. 7.

owner of D2 Sales, said she was "pleased with the quality of the prospects." Nix added that the level of service provided by show organizers was an enticement for her company to return to the next Kiosk Show.

NetWorld has committed to two Kiosk Shows for 2005. The next Kiosk Show will be held February 20-22, 2005, in Orlando, Fla., followed by a September show in San Diego, Calif.

Greg Swistak, executive director of the Kiosks.org Association, said of the opening reception, "It seems vibrant. There seems to be a lot of business going on."
