HOUSTON - AOL Time-Warner Cable-Houston has named a coalition of kiosk-related companies in its starting lineup for the information kiosks it is deploying for the National Football League's newest team, the Houston Texans.
The Texans, which kick off their inaugural season in September, will provide eight touchscreen information kiosks at Reliant Stadium, their newly constructed facility.
AOL Time-Warner has contracted with Arral Industries Inc. to provide the enclosures for the project and integrate the hardware and peripherals. Each kiosk will feature a pair of 15-inch ELO TouchSystems Inc. touchscreens, simultaneously displaying content. The kiosks will run on software developed by NetShift Software Ltd.
The kiosks, which will be in place before the Texans' pre-season home opener on Aug. 24 against Miami, will serve as a marketing and information tool for fans attending Texans home games. The content will focus on the Texans and AOL Time-Warner Cable's branding and marketing efforts.
Time Warner Cable-Houston is Houston's largest cable company with about 650,000 subscribers.
