Kiosk Operators acquires Wellmation

Kiosk Operators (KO) acquires Wellmation, a company specializing in pharmaceutical kiosks. The acquisition includes Wellmation's patents, software, hardware and general intellectual property, according to a press release.

KO's systems are designed to offer 24/7 access to prescription medication and improve customer access and choice.

"Automation provides a wide range of solutions for patient access, including rural accessibility, tele-medicine, urgent care and many other subsectors in the healthcare ecosystem," Amy Valley, advisor to KO, said in the press release. "It is also an opportunity for the pharmaceutical industry to reduce costs and improve compliance with data management."

Patient-accessible remote automated pharmacy dispensing systems currently have regulatory approval in seven states and the industry is poised for widespread adoption of this kiosk technology.
