Kiosk developer NBG Solutions winds down

June 27, 2002

PORTLAND, Ore. - Citing uncertain economic conditions and the inability to develop long-term projects, Portland-based kiosk development firm NBG Solutions Inc. shut its doors on June 28.

NBG, which opened in 1999, was a designer and developer of services equipment and software for interactive kiosks. The company reported sales of $1.3 million in 2001, more than double its 2002 sales of $634,000, and did much of its work in the government and services sectors. NBG's clients included Healthnotes Inc., health-card facility developer Marquis Companies, and the United States General Services Administration.

But George Campbell, NBG Solutions president, said the company was not able to generate enough significant projects to continue as a viable operation.

"We're shutting down due to the business climate and the lack of real ongoing projects," Campbell said. "We had lots of prototypes and lots of one-offs, but nothing sustainable."

NBG, which listed 10 employees on its Web site, was a wholly owned subsidiary of Tualatin, Ore.-based NBG Radio Network Inc. (OTC:NSBD).

The network, a creator, producer, and distributor of entertainment/music-related radio programs, reported a net loss of $1,526,046 on revenue of $3,050,716 in the first quarter of 2002, a significant increase over its 2001 first-quarter loss of $475,890. Kiosk revenue for the first quarter increased from $89,500 in 2001 to $342,163 this year.
