Kinetics appoints communications director

LAKE MARY, Fla. - Kinetics Inc., preparing for expansion beyond its industry focus on airlines, has hired airline communications veteran Jim Brown as director of corporate and marketing communications.

Brown, who had been a consultant for Kinetics for more than a year, will oversee the technology provider's public and media relations efforts. Brown is the former director of corporate communications for AirTran Airways.

Chief executive David Melnick, in a news release, said it's time for the company that serves several of the country's largest airlines to be more assertive in communicating its accomplishments to the general market.
