Kayak rental kiosk dispenses Internet reserved kayaks

Outdoors lovers who want to rent a kayak can do so any time of the day or night, thanks to the Kayakomat machine made by Point 65 Sweden, a kayak maker, according to a newatlas.com report.

The machine contains 65 individually locked kayaks stacked on shelves. Each kayak contains accessories such as a life vest, paddle and spray skirt.

Users can reserve a kayak at the Kayakomat website, pay a rental fee, review usage instructions and receive a one-time unlock code. They use the code to open the electronic padlock of the kayak they selected, then remove the boat.

Kayakomat owner operators only need to visit the machine once a week.
