Kansas city gets solar powered EV charging stations

Owners of electric vehicles in Olathe, Kansas will be able to charge their cars for free with solar energy, thanks to solar powered EV charging stations, according to a fox4kc.com report.

The charging stations will be paid for with assistance from a federal grant secured by the Metropolitan Energy Center. The grant will cover approximately 45% of the $450,000 project, which includes six solar EV charging stations across the city.

Each station can charge two electric vehicles at a time.
