KAL ships latest generation of Kalignite

EDINBURGH, Scotland - Scottish software company KAL Inc. launched its new financial services platform software system Kalignite CE on Oct. 31, saying the software was ideal for system deployers with big aspirations but limited technical means.

Kalignite CE, based on Microsoft's CE operating system, offers solid graphics and numerous features for ATM machines, kiosks, and other self-service machines, KAL said in a news release. But the system is also designed to function on self-service systems that run on limited operating resources, such as low-end central processing units.

Kalignite CE is the next generation of KAL's Kalignite software line and has the same general software architecture. The company shipped 3,300 Kalignite systems during 2000, the company announced in April (See story: KAL posts record year for software sales).
